Jared’s Final Sign Off – News 2

This doesn’t happen often, but I’m at a loss for the right things to say. Today is my husbands last day at News 2. What I do know is that pictures are worth a thousand words so I put together a little snippet of his last 3+ years.

With Jared, what you see on TV is who he is off the green screen.

Jared, I love that you are without ego, you are full of love and personality, and you have a true passion for me, food, fun suits, Muffin, and the weather. May all your days continue to be sunny, bright, and full of joy! Cheers to 3+ incredible years. I love you.

      1. Emily,
We love Jared and he will be greatly missed. He took care of us down in Moore County.
Can you tell us what happened so we can contain?
We love you, him and Muffin.
        Take care of each other.

      2. Jared is my redneck buddy. And from Tennessee. That’s a good thing. Good luck buddy! I was part of a commercial for news 2 this morning a few years ago. If I could do another one. I’d ask. What the heck did you let Jared get away for!?

    1. You will certainly be missed not only for the great job you do as a weathercaster but for me your genuine smile can’t be replaced by anyone. I work at a drivers license station and see non smiling (to be nice) faces all day. It really makes you appreciate seeing people that radiate a love for God and a positive approach to life. God speed to you and your wife. I’m not sure I can watch WKRN news anymore…..

    2. When jared 1st arrived at ch 2, I was skeptical, the previous weather guy was very personable and popular. But it didnt take long for Jared’s personality to win over thousands of fans. I’m crushed this has happened. I dont know all the details of what’s going on. I’m hoping that jared will land on both feet at another station here in nashville. I want to keep up with the 2 of you plus muffin of course. Good luck. God bless. Please stay in touch. Know there are many thousands of fans who are upset.

  2. It is with bittersweet that I watch Jared’s final day at WKRN. Sad for the loss I know myself and other viewers will experience in coming days due to the lack of Jared’s inner sunshine, his passion for all things “weather related”, his accuracy in his weather predictions, and a plethora of other positive vibes. Yet, a happy day as we silently look forward to see where life will next take Jared and the chapter he will next write in the book of his life. We’ll be following! ❤

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this video. Your husband, Jared, is such a light! Moreover, God’s light is shining on him and will continue to shine on him wherever he goes. I’ve been a viewer since 1996, but this “loss” of Jared is one that seems sudden and utterly one that I don’t understand. But GOD!! He will always open new doors, and I hoping and believing that we have NOT seen the last of Jared on air. May God bless the both of as He takes Jared and the both of you to the NEXT LEVEL in Him. God will get the GLORY !!!

  4. Emily,
When news 2’s last morning weather guy left I was bummed out, I really wasn’t sure a new weather guy would work for me….I was wrong. I took to Jared from the get go . From his joy, to those awsome suits, and of course Muffin Monday pictures ( and I’m actually a dog person) I don’t know the circumstances behind Jareds leaving, but I wish you guys all the best where ever you end up

  31. Channel 2 has done a great disservice to those of us who truly loved Jared’s weather reports, great personality & awesome suits! I’ll no longer be watching channel 2! No doubt you’ll succeed in anything you do, Jared, and good luck on future endeavors! Oh, not sure why you are no longer with ch 2 but I can tell you one thing I know for sure…if you had a huge cleavage & tighter than tight clothes you’d still be doing the weather.Seems like ch 2 is grasping at straws trying to “up” their ratings in this manner. Just shows you how classless they have become. And one more thing I’ve been wanting to say to ch 2 but never have is why don’t they get rid of Neil Orne!!! He either looks like he’s just rolled out of bed or just coming in off a drunk! EVERY morning!

  34. Hello Emily – I played golf a few weeks ago with Jared at 12 Stones (tell him this is from the KC Chiefs fan)….and my wife and I are sorry to hear the news. He was playing that day with a weather guy from another station and he was easy to talk to and down to earth. Let’s just say I was left with a better impression of him than his golf partner for that day. He did give me a shout out the next morning and I emailed him to let him know my wife got a big kick out of that and recorded it to send to friends. I thanked him for that and to let him know I enjoyed golfing, he responded even before he got off the air. For what little I know of you guys, I have the impression you have a great deal going for both of you and if you want to stay around town something good will come along. I hope Jared kept my email or number in case he wants to go another round since he has some time now! Good luck
